Our third feature for #IWD2023 is Megan Balodis!
Megan is a former plant scientist turned flower farmer in Pictou County. She grows specialty cut flowers for fresh and dried arrangements, and occasionally helps her husband chase beef cows. They squeeze all this around raising their family.
What’s one message you would like to share for International Women’s Day?
“I think women in agriculture are a testament to the strength and resiliency of women. We build our businesses and our lives around our family, whatever that family looks like, and we do it with creativity. An increasing number of farms boast women as owner-operators and the industry is better for it.”
