Farm Safety: Adapting to Change: Tools for Navigating Climate Uncertainty

January 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Living with uncertainty is a reality many farmers face every day. Even in good seasons, there’s often a sense of holding your breath, wondering if things might be “too good to be true.” This ongoing unpredictability—about what tomorrow, next month, or the next few years may bring—can take a real toll on well-being. Our brains are wired to crave stability, making farming uniquely challenging in ways many other industries may not fully understand.

Recognizing this, Farm Safety Nova Scotia has partnered with Soft Pine Wellness to offer a two-part webinar series to help farmers navigate these uncertainties and find support along the way. Adapting to Change: Tools for Navigating Climate Uncertainty has been created to provide our farming community with practical resources and strategies to meet the challenges brought on by climate and environmental change. By supporting well-being through climate change, farmers can take positive steps towards practical action on their farms and connect with community members, programs and initiatives.

Session 1: How We Respond to Change
Held on Wednesday, December 4th

Climate change and modern-day realities create numerous challenges that impact farmers’ well-being and livelihood. This session dove right into these experiences and explored practical tools that proactively addressed tough moments. Session 2: Finding Support and Moving Forward
